Craig Starr
Craig Starr
...WTH happened here? ...This is like the 4th fatality at WEC not even referring to the hundreds of 911 calls made from the notorious pony bar...coke, alcohol, and mayhem....this is outa control....
Re: Craig Starr
Craig was not at WEC. He was not a person who would have been intoxicated. He was 6.4 and would have had 2 drinks. The turn where he died was almost a U turn that then curved around again to the west, all within a few hundred feet of road. Cars coming from the opposite direction were hidden until the last minute. I believe being it was late and with not many vehicles in that area at night someone was probably speeding and cut the rollback turn in the opposite direction and forced Craig to swerve to miss him. He had to have done a 300 degree turn to hit a band of trees. We will never know, but I do know he was a very measured and controlled person who would not have made a catastrophic mistake on his own. A terrible tragedy for such an amazing person. He was selfless, brilliant, kind, extremely hardworking, a fantastic rider and horseman, a true animal lover.
Re: Craig Starr
Very sad about Craig. From everything I've been told, it was just a navigational mistake and nothing else.
Who are the other 4 that died? I can think of one other one that was a trainer that died last year in a car accident in Ocala, but who are the other ones?

Re: Craig Starr
Diasti Stables is responsible for this death. None of the five or more trainers/boarders that have left Diasti in the last few months think this was a tragic accident. Ralea their manager was seen arguing with him right before his death and they left heading in the same direction from Juniper. At least ten people have separately given statements to Levy Co and the HWY patrol saying this wasn’t an accident and that Ralea is responsible.
Re: Craig Starr
Ralea was not at Juniper. Tom Foley made a statement 2 days before his death he was going to cut his brakes. He tried to take his mobile home and was stopped by the police. He said he was helping a friend though he and Craig were bitter enemies. The police are looking at Tom Foley. Craig's place was ransacked. Craig got along with Ralea well enough, though she didn't support him when he tried to collect fees when his girlfriend and he had a breakup.
